Austin leads mountaineering and sea kayaking programs in Alaska as well as climbing and trekking trips in South America and Africa. He has done numerous climbs in Alaska, Canada, Kenya, Tanzania, and Argentina as well as most of the volcanoes of the Cascade Range in the western U.S. He has climbed Yosemite big walls, rafted Class V Alaskan rivers, and also manages the AMG website. He holds a degree in Math and Physics from the University of Puget Sound and in addition to climbing and kayaking is happy to discuss Quantum Mechanics and Chaos Theory with anyone interested on bad weather days.
